Pitcher Daniel Norris

It was a great game for the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday against the Chicago Cubs, especially for pitcher Daniel Norris. Considering it was Norris’ first major-league baseball game at-bat, he did an amazing feat, as he hit a home run early in the second inning, giving them an early advantage of 3-0.

Norris became the first pitcher to hit a home run in his first career at-bat since Tommy Malone did it in 2011. His run scored Anthony Gose, and actually measured 419 feet, as it went far back into center field and over the fence. Check out the amazing play:

It was an amazing play by Norris, who has already proven to be a power hitter, despite being a pitcher. He recently broke two panels of the rightfield scoreboard when he hit a home run during batting practice at Wrigley. This is why people watch baseball, for the great plays and amazing hits.
